Age Group

This area caters for 20 children aged from 3 to 6 years.

Staff

With a ratio of one staff member to ten children, this room is supervised by two mature and experienced staff in a loving and nurturing environment.

Routine

Staff are aware of each child's routine and ensure that it is followed. Programs are used as a guide and are inspired by the Reggio Emilia principles, but staff will observe children and allow the day to follow their interests.

Play Areas

Large play room and own shaded outdoor area with a compost bin and plans for a vegetable patch. Water play is allowed in appropriate weather.

Activities

This age group plays lots of social games such as "Duck, Duck, Goose". Learning is focused on self help and children are encouraged to spread their own sandwiches and help with other food preparation.

There is no sleep time, but sleepy heads are able to join the 2-3-year-olds if they require a nap. This group has meditation and relaxation time.

Special Features

Special features for this age group include our computers, kindergarten and French programs and our light table, which has an overhead projector and neon lights and encourages science, maths, technology and the reflection of light.
